Laser Wrinkle Treatment Eases the Way to Younger-Looking Skin

A 2008 survey by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery reveals that patients in their 50s and 60s ranked youthful-looking skin as the number-one feature they find attractive in others. It also indicated that respondents in their 20s, 40s, 50s and 60s were very concerned about the appearance of their faces.

With so much emphasis on facial beauty, treatment for periorbital and perioral wrinkles is in demand now more than ever. And Palomar® fractional ablative laser treatments provide you with a cost-effective solution for satisfying client demand for wrinkle treatment that requires minimal recovery time with dramatic, long-lasting results.

Unlike traditional CO2 treatment, which is painful and requires extensive patient downtime, the fractional ablative wrinkle treatment from Palomar uses pulses of laser light that deliver excellent long-term results in just one simple treatment. Our laser light penetrates skin to just the right depth and with just the right level of heat to evoke a dramatic healing response that promotes collagen production and diminishing the appearance of fine lines around the eyes and mouth.  It's wrinkle treatment that's easy on you and your clients.

How Laser Wrinkle Treatment Works

Periorbital and perioral wrinkle treatment with Palomar uses a fractional ablative laser to generate areas of ablation bordered by residual layers of tissue coagulation, which are then surrounded by healthy tissue. The healthy tissue surrounding the areas permit rapid reepithelialization of the epidermis in as little as 12 hours.

The Lux2940 features two treatment options: short pulse ablative option or long pulse for thermal effect. You control the amount of coagulation, column diameter and depth of skin ablation. Narrow fractional columns reepithelialize within one day for a rapid recovery.

Groove Patterns of Ablation for Fractional Skin Resurfacing: Healing Time Course Study and Histologic Evaluation
Ross, E.V., Doherty S., Seckel B., PMTI, 2009.
"The goal of this paper is to describe a healing time course clinical study and histologic evaluation of ex vivo porcine skin following treatment with the Lux2940 Groove Optic insert..."

Groove Patterns of Ablation for Fractional Skin Resurfacing: Clinical Results and Applications
Doherty S., Seckel B., Dierickx C., Ross E.V., PMTI, 2009.
"We report findings on a novel fractional skin resurfacing technology which uses a groove pattern of injury as opposed to the column pattern delivered with 'traditional' fractional beam resurfacing."

Advantages of a Groove Pattern of Micro-Fractional Ablation for Facial Skin Resurfacing

Novel, Micro-Fractional Ablative Erbium Laser for Wrinkle Reduction and Skin Resurfacing
Ross E.V., Khatri K., PMTI, 2008.
"The marked improvement in perioral and periorbital wrinkles from fractional Lux2940 treatments observed in these clinical studies is similar to multi-pass CO2 treatments, but with much less patient discomfort and less downtime. Subjects and practitioners have the unique option of tailoring their Lux2940 treatments to best meet the subject's goals for outcome...."
